Vocational Services (Return to Work)

Insight Rehabilitation specialises in return to work programmes for those who have had a traumatic brain injury.

Why choose a specialist team?

Many vocational companies are return to work specialists for people with  general physical injuries (orthopaedic, etc.), but are not experienced with the complexities around clients who have had a traumatic brain injury. Many people who have had a brain injury do not exhibit many physical injuries, but may have ongoing issues with fatigue, cognitive and social/communication.

These issues are unseen and often misunderstood, so specialists in this area are required to ensure that return to work is successful for the person and the workplace.

Research has shown that there are many benefits from a timely return to work. Some of these benefits are:

  • Reduced periods of incapacity
  • Less financial loss
  • Improved access to treatment and rehabilitation services
  • Additional support networks
  • Job retention
  • Prevention of the impact of unemployment

Most disabilities after accident or injury are temporary. As well, it is not always necessary to recover fully before returning to work. Many people with permanent disabilities or changed functions contribute positively to the workplace. Modified or alternative duties can often be found to enable you to work in a temporary function or for a short period of time while you recover.

Vocational Services at Insight Rehabilitation are here to support your return to work. We will work with you to ensure you get the right intervention at the right time. The team are aware that returning to work can have a great impact on the home and family life, and they work towards a balance of both.

Return to work needs to be sustainable and manageable so that the client remains successful and confident in all areas of their life.
